Craftmanship

Travertine quarried from geothermal limestone caves in Tibet and individually finished to highlight natural beauty. Head is hand-finished and precisely fitted to a rotation mechanism, engineered to move smoothly through a full 180 degrees while staying securely in place. The solid wood body anchors the fixture to the wall, giving a strong visual base that lets the rotating head remain the focal point.

Each travertine drum carries the stone's natural pitting and veining, so no two pieces are quite alike.

Dual control options, wall switch or pull-chain, mean the same considered design can adapt to different homes and wiring setups without compromising on form.

Details

Mawari takes its name from the Japanese word for turning, a direct nod to its signature feature. The travertine light head rotates a full 180 degrees, letting you redirect the glow up, down, or anywhere between, depending on the moment.

Switch between three LED color temperatures simply by opening and closing the light head, and choose the control style that fits your space: a hardwired wall-switch version, or a pull-chain version with a 15.7 in (40 cm) chain for independent control.

Available in two colorways, Mawari is dimmer compatible and works well as a reading light, bedside accent, or adjustable hallway fixture.

Light In Japandi

In Japan, lighting is more than illumination. It's a design philosophy, a deliberate choice to create warmth and presence in your space.

When you fill your room with Japandi lighting, the soft ambiance instantly makes you feel relaxed. It wipes away the chaos of your day so you can actually be present with yourself or someone else.

No distractions.

Just presence.

The Travertine Story

Formed over thousands of years by mineral rich hot springs, travertine carries a record no factory could replicate - every pit, vein, and irregularity a trace of how it came to be. No two pieces emerge alike. Cool and substantial in the hand, yet warm in tone, travertine grounds a space with the quiet weight of something genuinely old.

About This Piece

Mawari, Japanese for turning, brings flexibility to wall lighting. Its travertine head rotates a full 180 degrees, so the same fixture can wash light upward, cast it downward, or angle anywhere between, depending on what the room calls for.

Available in two colorways and two control styles, wall switch or pull-chain, Mawari adapts to your space as easily as it adapts to your mood.

Full Mawari Description

MAWARI Wall Sconce - Rotating Travertine Wall Light

Bring adjustable, directional light to your wall with MAWARI, our rotating
travertine wall sconce. The name MAWARI - Japanese for turning or rotation -
reflects the piece's signature feature: a travertine light head that rotates a
full 180 degrees, letting you redirect the glow exactly where you need it.

DESIGN & AESTHETIC:
MAWARI pairs a solid wood body with a rotating travertine drum head, finished
in your choice of two colorways. Unlike fixed sconces, MAWARI's head pivots
180 degrees, so the same fixture can wash light upward across the ceiling, cast
it downward for task lighting, or angle it anywhere in between.

The integrated LED offers three color temperature options, switched simply by
opening and closing the light - no separate remote or app required.

TWO CONTROL VARIANTS:
Choose the variant that fits your space: a hardwired version controlled by a
standard wall switch, or a pull-chain version with a 15.7 in (40 cm) chain for
independent on/off control without needing a dedicated wall switch.

INSTALLATION:
MAWARI is hardwired and, given its weight, professional electrician
installation is recommended for both safe wiring and secure wall mounting.
MAWARI is also compatible with dimmer switches for further light control.

FEATURES:

- 180-degree rotating travertine light head
- Available in 2 colorways
- Two control variants: wall switch or pull-chain (15.7 in / 40 cm chain)
- Integrated LED with 3 switchable color temperatures
- 9-watt LED, 249-2000 lumen flux range
- Hardwired, AC 120-240V universal voltage
- CCC, CE, LVD, ROHS certified
- Approximately 6.6 lbs

PERFECT FOR:
Reading nook accent lighting, bedside wall lighting, hallway sconces, living
room accent walls, entryway lighting, task lighting near a desk or chair,
Japandi and minimalist interiors, contemporary bedrooms.

WHY CHOOSE MAWARI:
Unlike fixed-direction sconces, MAWARI adapts in real time to how you're using
a space - angle it up for ambient wash, or down for focused reading light, all
from the same fixture. The choice between wall switch and pull-chain control
means MAWARI fits both new installations and rooms without existing switch
wiring.

CARE & MAINTENANCE:
Travertine is a natural stone and will develop subtle character over time.
Dust gently with soft cloth. Avoid direct water exposure. Professional
installation strongly recommended due to weight.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY:
MAWARI embodies the Japandi principle of considered flexibility - a fixture
that moves with you, rather than asking you to move around it.
