Craftmanship

Each piece pairs hand-finished travertine with a solid walnut wood band, precisely fitted to intersect the shade at its center. The contrast is identical: cool stone above and below, warm wood cutting through the middle.

No two shades are identical; natural variation is part of the stone's character, not a flaw. The walnut band is finished to highlight its natural grain, deepening in tone over time.

Obi is built for spaces where you want a compact, character light - a single statement piece rather than a sprawling fixture.

Details

Obi takes its name from the traditional Japanese sash, a band that wraps and defines. Here, a warm walnut wood ring intersects a hand-finished travertine shade, creating a compact pendant with quiet, sculptural contrast.

The customizable bulb shade lets you shift the color temperature of your space, from cozy and intimate lighting, to cleaner and everyday brightness. One fixture, adaptable to the mood you want.

Compact by design, Obi suits small clusters over a kitchen island, a single drop over a side table, or a reading corner. The adjustable cord gives you flexibility to set the exact height for your space.

Hardwired installation by a professional electrician recommended.

Light In Japandi

In Japan, lighting is more than illumination. It's a design philosophy, a deliberate choice to create warmth and presence in your space.

When you fill your room with Japandi lighting, the soft ambiance instantly makes you feel relaxed. It wipes away the chaos of your day so you can actually be present with yourself or someone else.

No distractions.

Just presence.

The Travertine Collection

Formed over thousands of years by mineral rich hot springs, travertine carries a record no factory could replicate - every pit, vein, and irregularity a trace of how it came to be. No two pieces emerge alike. Cool and substantial in the hand, yet warm in tone, travertine grounds a space with the quiet weight of something genuinely old.

About This Piece

Obi borrows its name from the Japanese sash tradition, a band that wraps, defines, and completes. The walnut wood ring intersecting this travertine pendant plays the same role: a warm, grounding line through cool natural stone.

Compact and sculptural, Obi works beautifully alone or clustered in twos and threes above a kitchen island or dining table. Choose your bulb temperature to match the mood - warm and intimate, or clean and bright.

Full Obi Description

OBI Pendant Light - Travertine & Walnut Wood Band Lighting

Bring compact sculptural contrast to your kitchen or dining space with OBI, our
travertine pendant light intersected by a warm walnut wood band. The name OBI
references the traditional Japanese sash — a wrapped band that defines and
completes a form, just as the walnut ring does here.

DESIGN & AESTHETIC:
OBI pairs hand-finished travertine with a precisely fitted walnut wood band,
creating a compact cylindrical pendant with built-in material contrast. Cool
stone above and below the wood band creates a layered visual rhythm, while the
warm walnut tone softens the overall composition.

Smaller in scale than a statement pendant, OBI is designed for versatility — hang
it solo over a side table, in a cluster of two or three above a kitchen island,
or as a single accent in a dining nook.

CUSTOMIZABLE LIGHTING:
OBI's E26 bulb shade is customizable, letting you choose your preferred color
temperature — warmer 2700K for cozy ambiance or cleaner 3000K for everyday
brightness. One fixture, adaptable lighting mood.

INSTALLATION:
Hardwired with an adjustable cord of up to 150cm (59 inches), OBI can be set to
the exact drop height your space calls for — lower over an island, higher in an
open dining area.

FEATURES:
- Hand-finished travertine shade
- Walnut wood intersecting band
- Customizable E26 bulb shade (2700K/3000K options)
- Adjustable cord up to 59 inches (150 cm)
- Compact 6.7 in (17 cm) x 4.9 in (14 cm) footprint
- AC 90-260V universal voltage
- Covers 3-5 square meter lighting area
- 6.6 lbs weight

PERFECT FOR:
Kitchen island clusters, dining table accents, side table pendants, reading
corner lighting, entryway accent light, compact space lighting, Japandi kitchen
design, minimalist ceiling fixtures, contemporary home interiors.

WHY CHOOSE OBI:
Unlike single-material pendants, OBI's walnut band creates immediate visual
interest and warmth against the cool travertine stone. The compact scale makes
it ideal for clustering — three OBI pendants at staggered heights over an island
create a striking, layered lighting moment.

OBI pairs beautifully with our complete Japandi lighting collection — HOTARU
night lights, AKANE table lamps, KUMO floor lamps, MUSHI sculptural pendants,
TSUBO travertine pendants, TAMA sphere pendants, TAKE bamboo wall sconces, YADO
ceiling lights, and KASANE wall sconces — for a cohesive, layered lighting
environment throughout your home.

CARE & MAINTENANCE:
Travertine is a natural stone and will develop subtle character over time. Dust
gently with soft cloth. Avoid direct water exposure. Walnut wood may deepen in
tone naturally with age. Professional installation recommended.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY:
OBI embodies the Japandi principle of intentional material contrast — cool stone,
warm wood, joined in a compact, considered form. Minimal footprint, maximum
character.
