Craftmanship

Kozo's shade is hand-crafted from washi paper made with mulberry (kozo) fiber, ribbed and shaped around a wire frame in the traditional lantern making style. Each ridge in the paper catches and diffuses light differently, giving the shade subtle texture and depth even when unlit.

The slender black metal tripod base is finished for durability and quiet visual presence, letting the paper shade material remain the focal point. Simple materials, traditional technique, modern function.

Kozo is designed to be a lasting ambient light source, the kind of piece that becomes part of the quiet rhythm of a room.

Details

Kozo takes its name from the mulberry fiber used to hand-craft its washi paper shade, the same traditional material used in Japanese paper lanterns for centuries. The ribbed, round shade sits atop a slender black metal tripod, casting a soft, diffused glow that fills a room without harsh shadows.

The customizable LED shifts between three color temperatures, so Kozo adapts from warm evening ambiance to brighter everyday light. Simple corded plug-in setup means no installation, just place it and switch it on.

At 47.2 inches tall, Kozo makes a quiet sculptural statement in a living room corner, beside a sofa, or in a bedroom reading nook. The washi paper diffuses light naturally, creating warmth without glare.

Full Kozo Description

KOZO Floor Lamp - Mulberry Washi Paper & Tripod Lighting

Bring the timeless warmth of traditional Japanese paper lanterns into your home
with KOZO, our mulberry washi paper floor lamp. The name KOZO references the
mulberry fiber (kozo) used to hand-craft the ribbed paper shade — a technique
rooted in centuries of Japanese papermaking tradition.

DESIGN & AESTHETIC:
KOZO's ribbed, round washi paper shade sits atop a slender black metal tripod,
creating a silhouette that's both sculptural and softly diffused. The hand-shaped
paper catches ambient light beautifully, filling a room with a warm, even glow
free of harsh shadows or glare.

Standing 120cm (47.2 inches) tall with a 53cm (20.9 inch) diameter shade, KOZO
makes a substantial yet visually light presence — ideal as a corner accent,
bedside floor lamp, or living room ambient light source.

CUSTOMIZABLE LIGHTING:
The LED bulb offers three adjustable color temperatures, letting you shift
between warm evening ambiance and brighter daily light with the same fixture.

SIMPLE SETUP:
KOZO is a corded plug-in floor lamp with no hardwiring or installation required.
Simply position it in your space and plug in — ideal for renters or anyone who
wants immediate ambient lighting without electrical work.

FEATURES:
- Hand-crafted ribbed mulberry washi paper shade
- Slender black metal tripod base
- Customizable 3-color LED (E26 bulb)
- Corded plug-in design, no installation needed
- ROHS + CE certified
- 11 lbs, freestanding
- AC 90-260V universal voltage

PERFECT FOR:
Living room ambient lighting, bedroom floor lamp, reading nook accent, corner
lighting, meditation and yoga spaces, minimalist interiors, Japandi home design,
contemporary living spaces, warm evening lighting.

WHY CHOOSE KOZO:
Unlike synthetic paper-look shades, KOZO uses genuine mulberry washi paper,
hand-ribbed in traditional lantern-making style. The result is a shade with real
texture and depth, diffusing light more naturally than printed or plastic
alternatives. The tripod base keeps the design grounded and simple, letting the
paper shade be the star.

KOZO pairs beautifully with our complete Japandi lighting collection — HOTARU
night lights, AKANE table lamps, KUMO floor lamps, MUSHI sculptural pendants,
TSUBO travertine pendants, TAMA sphere pendants, OBI walnut-banded pendants,
TAKE bamboo wall sconces, YADO ceiling lights, and KASANE wall sconces — for a
cohesive, layered lighting environment throughout your home.

CARE & MAINTENANCE:
Washi paper is delicate and should be dusted gently with a soft, dry cloth.
Avoid moisture and direct water exposure, which can damage the paper fibers.
Keep away from open flame sources.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY:
KOZO embodies the Japandi appreciation for traditional craft made livable —
authentic mulberry paper, simple modern form, warm ambient function. A quiet
nod to Japanese lantern-making, reimagined for the modern home.
