Details

Shaped from wood into a soft oval with a low, rounded rim, this tray brings order to the small things that tend to scatter. Set soap and lotion on it by the sink, keep keys and remotes together by the door, or carry a pair of cups and a pour-over to the table. The rim keeps things in place without boxing them in, and the grain gives each tray its own quiet character. Choose the small for a single pair of bottles or a few everyday essentials, or the large for cups, a tea set, or a fuller catchall.

Texture In Japandi

In Japan, wood has long been left to speak for itself: the cedar of a bath, the cypress of a temple floor, the plain board of a tea tray, shaped and smoothed but rarely hidden.

Scandinavia shares the same instinct. Long winters made wood the warmth of the home, worked simply and kept close at hand. Japandi is where those two traditions meet, letting the grain carry the room in place of pattern or paint.

About This Piece

Arriving with a smooth finish and a clear, even grain, the wood looks fresh from the workshop. It will not stay this way, however. With time, light, air, and daily use, its tone slowly deepens and its surface softens to the touch - a patina only time can give, and no two trays reach it in quite the same way.

Made to be used rather than kept pristine, it takes on the story of the home it lives in. Each morning coffee and each set of keys dropped at the door leaves its mark, and the tray you unpack is only the beginning.
